DW Services Functioning

In this article, you will learn

  • which DW services you can access in the main menu of the PPD Toolbox Collection and
  • how and for what they can be used.

1. Introduction

This article will take a closer look at the DW Services, which can be used to start and stop all workflow services from the workflow. It is also possible to open various frontends with the DW Services. Users can start a service in the console for debugging purposes.

File [1] – use this menu item to close the service manager.

Tools [2] – use this menu item to carry out a manual workflow installation and to display the Windows services.

PMS [3] – the following actions can be performed using the associated buttons.

  • Stop – stop the PMS.
  • ReStart – restart the PMS.
  • Open Frontend – open the frontend for the respective instance in the browser.
  • Open Swagger – open the swagger in the browser.
  • Run in Console – start PMS in a console. Further error messages may be displayed.

ZuniComm [4] – the following actions can be performed using the associated buttons.

  • Stop – stop ZuniComm.
  • ReStart – restart ZuniComm.
  • Open Frontend – open ZuniComm in the browser.
  • Run in Console – ZuniComm can be started here in a console. Further error messages may be displayed.

PostGres [5]: the following actions can be performed using the associated buttons.

  • Stop – stop the PostGres service.
  • ReStart – restart the PostGres service.
  • Open PGAdmin – open the PGAdmin.
  • Open PG-Query – start the PPDTC PG Query.
  • Console Start – Postgres can be started in a console. Further error messages may be displayed.
  • Console Stop – Postgres that was started via the console can be stopped.

SMC [6]the following activities can be performed for the service management console using the associated buttons.

  • Stop – stop the Service Management Console.
  • ReStart – restart the Service Management Console.
  • Open Frontend – open the Service Management Console in the browser.

Stop all DW Services [7] – stop all Durst Workflow Workflow.

ReStart all DW Services [8] – restart all Durst Workflow Workflow.

Monitor [9] – information is displayed here when services are started and stopped.

3. Tools

This menu item is divided into two function groups – Manual Install [10] and Windows Services [11] – which are described below.

Manual Install

The Manual Install menu item can be used to perform a setup for Durst Workflow manually step by step. The prerequisite for this is that a file backup with PMS_DATA \ Filemanagement, PMS_DATA \ PMSDataBase12 and c: \ program files \ ppd is available.

The following buttons are available in this dialog.

Create Services+Config(7) [12]

This function is used to create the ZuniComm, PMS, SMC and PostGres services. The DWService user password is also reset. Depending on your preference, the password can be randomly generated (default behavior) or entered.

If the “Random Password” checkbox is not selected, the password for the DWService user can be set manually.

Set Environment [17]

The buttons in this settings area can be used to prepare the environment for the Durst Workflow.

Uninstall DW [18]

The Manual Uninstall DW button can be used to remove the Durst Workflow environment settings. However, the files used for this remain untouched.

Extract DW Setup Installer [13]

This function can be used to extract the files from a DW Setup Installer.

User Info [14]

This monitor can be used to view details about the DWService.

Service Info [15]

This monitor can be used to view details of the current services.

Windows Services

Users can track and check local services via Windows services.
