2.10 Optimize (Fixup Group)

Updated on

Learn in this article,

  • how to optimize print data for the output on a RIP and
  • which Fixups are available for this.

1. Introduction

Large and complex PDF files in particular can often lead to long rendering times. It is therefore advisable to optimize the print file before output in order to reduce the complexity of the file during processing. A number of Fixups are available in Workflow to make it easier for the users to optimize the file.

2. General

The Fixups listed below can be found in the Optimize dropdown menu [1]. This dropdown is located in the footer of the Document Information and User-defined Fields area in the Print Data tab [2]. Fixups can also be found in the Data Preparation [3] tab.

3. Fixups of this Fixup Group

Two Fixups are currently available in the Optimize Fixup group. These are briefly described below.

3.1. Convert Page Content to an Image

This Fixup aims to convert the entire page content into a pixel image. The user can select the desired Color Space - CMYK, RGB, and Grayscale are available. Selected object types can be excluded from the conversion.

3.2. Flatten Transparency
