Installing updates for versions higher than 1.19.0

Workflow versions 1.19.1, 1.19.2, 1.20.0, 1.20.1, and all future versions can only be installed if Workflow version 1.19.0 (1080) or higher is already installed on the system. A direct update from earlier versions – e.g., 1.18.x, 1.17.x, and 1.16.x – is not possible without first updating to version 1.19.0 (1080)! This requirement is due to internal improvements in the migration logic, introduced starting with version 1.19.0 (1080) or higher.

Important: Before installing an update, ensure that version 1.19.0. (1080) or higher is already installed on your system.

If you are updating from a Workflow version lower than 1.17.0 to version 1.19.0 or higher, you must first update to version 1.17.0, and only then proceed to version 1.19.0 (1080)!

No more upgrades possible for versions older than 1.13.0

Please note that as of the release of version 1.20.1 (release date: June 30, 2025), it is no longer possible to upgrade from Workflow versions older than 1.13.0 (release date: August 31, 2022)!

2. Fixed Bugs

The following bugs were fixed in this release:

2.1. Main Application

Fixup – "Create Spot Color Separation depending on Total Ink Coverage" – Executing the Fixup with the activated option Create an additional area on the outer edge enabled in the tab "Advanced" caused an error in pdfToolbox 16. This error has been fixed. [PPDWF-10625]

Print Item Editor – Extracting Barcodes – When extracting barcodes from multipage PDFs, the Print Item Editor could become inactive if a page from the document had not been previously prepared in the system. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-11022]

Fotoba XLA Cut File – Error – When using the Fotoba XLA in a Nesting Imposition with Print Items of different sizes – e.g., after splitting a Tiling – the cut width was previously determined based solely on the first page of the multipage Nesting. This led to incorrect cropping for Tiles with different dimensions. This error has been fixed. Starting with this version, a new barcode is now assigned per page for Print Items with different sizes, ensuring correct cutting behavior. [PPDWF-10099]

Production Job – Output Template – A modified Output Template in the Production Job was overwritten with the default values of the Output Template when the Production Job was reopened. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10866]

Quick Print – Updating the changed Production Configuration – Changes made to the selected Production Configuration were not updated in the section Operations of the Quick Print interface. This behavior has been fixed [PPDWF-9287].

Q-Points Filter – The filters Created UTC and Modified could not be used in the menu Administration > Q-Points. This bug has been fixed. [PPDWF-10219]

Quick Print – Deleting Empty Bundles – Empty Bundles could not be deleted in the tab "History Quick Prints". This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10001]

Production Job – Rendering – In some cases, the Job Ticket was send to the printer before all separations had been fully written, resulting in missing separations. This bug has been fixed. [PPDWF-10471]

Render – 270° Rotation – When sending a Production Job to the printer using the dialog Send to Printer with a 270° rotation, the output was sometimes generated without separations. This issue has been fixed. [PPDWF-10495]

Approval Dashboard – Display of Expired Projects – When using the filter "Pending" in the Approval Dashboard, expired projects were incorrectly included in the results. This behavior has been fixed. The filter "Pending" now correctly excludes expired projects. [PPDWF-10374]

Spot Color Definition – Creating Technical Spot Colors – When creating Spot Colors as Technical Colors in the dialog "Create Spot Color Definition" of an Article or Print Item, these colors could not be used to generate cut paths for Cutter Devices. This problem has been fixed by removing the option to create Technical Spot Colors in this dialog. [PPDWF-9510] [PPDWF-10143]

Automation Job – Cut File – When using the Operations "Create Impose" and "Create Production Job from Imposition", no Cut File was generated if a Cutter Device was selected in the respective Operation. This error has been fixed. [PPDWF-8080]

Production Configuration – Operation "Create Imposition" – Up to this version, the Operation "Create Impose" could be added multiple times within a Production Configuration. This behavior has now been disabled, and the Operation can only be used once per Production Configuration. [PPDWF-9673]

Production Scheduler – Sorting the list – When sorting the list of Production Schedulers by Created or Modified date, the list was previously not displayed in the correct order. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10552]

Production Scheduler – Filter for Winding Type – When the filter Winding Type in the tab "Apply to" of a Production Scheduler was not applied correctly. This bug has been fixed. [PPDWF-10556]

Create Order – Color Policy – When creating an order line for a Print Item, if the default Color Policy was removed and a different Color Policy was assigned – other than the order line's default – the system incorrectly reapplied the default Color Policy after saving. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10328]

Production Job – Tags – When setting Tags for multiple Production Jobs at the same time, the Tags were not applied correctly. This behavior has been fixed so that Tags now apply properly to all selected Production Jobs. [PPDWF-10403]

Production Job – Deleting a Print Item – Previously, once a Print Item was sent to the printer, it could no longer be deleted from the Production Job. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10585]

Spot Color Report – Fixed Color Values – If a Spot Color's defined color value was set to "0", the value was not displayed correctly in the Spot Color Report. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10485]

Die Cut Library – Adding Numbering for One-Ups – Print numbering for One-Ups was not working. This error has been fixed, restoring the ability to perform print numbering. [PPDWF-10394]

2.2. Impose Editor

Tiling – Including Captions – Activating the option "Include Captions" caused partially unusable results. The behavior has been addressed and resolved, ensuring captions are correctly included. [PPDWF-10155]

Nesting – Flaps with rounded corners – Previously, both outer and inner corners of flaps were rounded. This behavior has been fixed. Now, only the outer corners are rounded as intended. [PPDWF-9873]

Step & Repeat – Display warning – In the Impose Editor, when the mark "Origin" was set to Impose Sheet, in a multipage Step & Repeat, no warning appeared if all pages were identical except for the Print Item caption. For all other origins, a warning was displayed in this case. This behavior has been fixed – the warning is now also displayed for the "Origin" Impose Sheet. [PPDWF-10018]

3. Hotfixes
