3.116 Set MediaBox to Origin

1. Introduction

The Fixup Set MediaBox to Origin is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to set the MediaBox to its origin, i.e. the coordinates 0/0.

2. General

The Fixup Set MediaBox to Origin can be used to bring the MediaBox back to its original position. In some cases, the MediaBox can also be moved, especially if the Page Box is moved. If the MediaBox is not in its original position, this can lead to errors in the further processing and calculation of the document in the Workflow.

Apply this Fixup by default for all print data or technical drawings created in programs such as PackZ, ArtPro and the CAD programs ArtiosCAD. Almost by default the MediaBox is very often not in the origin in these programs.

Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job by:

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
  • activating the option Page Box in the Category area,
  • activating the option MediaBox in the Search area.

3. Description

This Fixup can be used to set the MediaBox back to its original position or origin. This does not change the appearance of the document.

3.1. Requirements and Functionality

For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following facts must be given:

  • The MediaBox is not in the origin.

No further options can be selected.

Check-in automatically activated

As errors often occur because the MediaBox is not set to the origin, Fixup are automatically performed when a file is uploaded. To avoid errors in further calculations or processing, this Fixup cannot be deactivated.

3.2. Before/After

The description of an example can be omitted due to the simplicity of the Fixup.
