3.50 Delete Pages

1. Introduction

The Fixup Delete Pages is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to delete selected pages of a multi-page file with all the objects on them.

2. General

Use the Fixup Delete Pages to delete selected pages from a multi-page document. Find out more about the possible options for the Pages input field in the information window next to the input field.

Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job by:

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
  • activating the option Page in the Category area,
  • activating the option Delete in the Action area,

3. Description

Use this Fixup to delete selected pages in a multi-page document. To delete a specific page, enter the respective page number or page range.

3.1. Requirements and Functionality

For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following requirements must be met:

  • The document consists of several pages.

Use the following option to delete pages:

  • Pages [1] – in the input field enter which pages should be deleted. The info box [2] provides examples of how to enter the page selection. The following entries can have an impact on the page selection:
    • 8 – page 8 is deleted
    • 1-6 – pages 1 to 6 are deleted
    • -3-1 – the last 3 pages are deleted
    • even – all even pages are deleted
    • odd – all odd pages are deleted
    • 1-5,8,13-16 – pages 1 to 5, page 8 as well as page 13 to 16 are deleted

Absolute page number

The page number given in this Fixup refers to the absolute page number and not to the relative page number found in the pagination of a multi-page document.

3.2. Before/After

To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Delete Pages.pdf". There are 6 pages in the file. Pages 2 and 3 should be deleted.

After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Delete Pages_End.pdf" is created. Pages 2 and 3 were deleted here. The values from Figure 1 were used.
