1. Introduction
In the Workflow the Fixup Remove Print Marks is available. The aim of this Fixup is to remove all Print Marks from the document. The user can also select whether print marks outside the final TrimBox or BleedBox should be deleted.
2. General
The Fixup Remove Print Marks can be used to remove Bleed Marks, Crop Marks and Color Bars that are outside the TrimBox. This Fixup requires that a TrimBox or BleedBox is available. The user can also select whether the print marks should be deleted outside the final TrimBox or BleedBox.
You can find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job:
- Entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
- Activating the Object option in the Category area,
- Activating the Delete option in the Action area and by
- Activating the Registration Marks option in the Search area.
3. Description
The Fixup Remove Print Marks removes all print marks from the document. The Fixup however requires that the TrimBox or BleedBox is set. In addition, the BleedBox is set based on the TrimBox after the Fixup has been executed. The desired offset of the BleedBox from the TrimBox can be set separately for all four pages. However, the size of the ArtBox, CropBox and MediaBox does not change when this Fixup is applied.
3.1. Requirements and Functionality
For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following conditions must be met:
- The TrimBox or BleedBox must be present.
- There are print marks, crop marks or bleed marks in the document

To remove Print Marks, please refer to the following options:
- Templates [1] - Settings selected in the dialog can be saved as a template and thus applied to other Articles/Print Items and used in the operation Apply Fixups.

Remove objects outside [2] - use the drop-down menu to select the Page Box outside of which the Print Marks should be removed. The following options are available:
- TrimBox - all Print Marks that are completely outside of the TrimBox will be deleted.
- BleedBox - all Print Marks that are completely outside of the BleedBox will be deleted.

Variable Content [4] - select the desired placeholder Database Field or Custom Field from which the value for selecting the page box should be retrieved. The following values must be found in the selected field in order for the selection to be generated:

- Set BleedBox [3] - Enter the Offset for Top, Bottom, Left and/or Right for the BleedBox. This offset is set based on the TrimBox. Select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field for the Variable Content [5], from which the value for Top, Bottom, Left or Right should be retrieved.

3.2. Before/After
To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Druckmarken.pdf". The print marks are located in the file outside the BleedBox and inside the ArtBox.
After applying the Fixups, the file "Sample_Druckmarken_End.pdf" is created. The values were taken from Figure 1. The Bleed is still at 3 mm.
