For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following requirements must be met:
- The area that should be filled is already described by an outline
- The outline should already be created system-wide as a technical Spot Color
Figure 1: The dialog for the Fixup Remove Printing Objects in Defined Area
Use the following options to set a defined area:
- Technical Color [1] - select the Technical Color that describes the defined area from the drop-down menu.
- Offset [2] - enter the desired offset for the fill here. In this case, only "-" values - i.e. the offset inwards - are permitted, as an offset outwards can lead to flashes, among other things. For the Variable Content [3], select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the offset should be retrieved.
3.2. Before/After
To experiment with this function, you can refer to the sample file "Sample_Remove Printing_Objects.pdf". The file contains the Technical Color "Ink Free".
Applying the Fixup creates the file "Sample_Remove Printing_Objects_End.pdf". All areas that are colored with the Technical Color "Ink Free" have now been removed.
