1. Introduction
The Fixup Remove Objects outside Page Geometry Box is available in the Workflow. This Fixup aims to remove objects outside a selected Page Box.
2. General
The Fixup Remove Objects outside Page Geometry Box can be used to delete objects that lie completely outside a selected Page Box. This makes it easy to remove objects that lie outside the printed area and thus reduce the complexity of print data for rendering.
Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job by:
- entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
- activating the option Object in the Category area,
- activating the option Delete in the Action area,
- activating the option TrimBox, BleedBox, CropBox and MediaBox in the Search area.
3. Description
This Fixup can be used to delete objects outside a selected Page Box. When creating a file, it can easily happen that some objects are unintentionally created outside the visible area. By applying this Fixup, all objects outside the selected box are removed.
Completely outside the box
Please note that the object can only be deleted if it is completely outside the selected box. Even if only a small part of the object is inside or on the selected Page Box, the respective object cannot be removed.
3.1. Requirements and Functionality
For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following requirements must be met:
- There are objects outside the selected Page Box that you want to remove.

To remove objects outside of a page geometry box you can select from the following options:

Page Geometry Box [1] – select the desired Page Box from the selection menu, which will delete all objects that are located on the outside. The following selection options are available:
- CropBox – all page objects that are completely outside the CropBox are removed.
- BleedBox – all page objects that are completely outside the BleedBox are removed.
- TrimBox – all page objects that are completely outside the TrimBox are removed.
- MediaBox – all page objects that are completely outside the MediaBox are removed.

Variable Content [2] – - select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the selection of Page Boxes should be retrieved. The following values must be found in the selected field for the selection to work:
CropBox
BleedBox
TrimBox
MediaBox

3.2. Before/After
To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Remove Objects outside PageBox.pdf". There are four vector objects outside the TrimBox, but inside the CropBox and MediaBox.
After applying the file, the file "Sample_Remove Objects outside PageBox_End.pdf" is created, where all objects outside the TrimBox have been removed. All page objects that are not exclusively outside the TrimBox have not been removed.
