3.112 Scale Page Content by Percentage

1. Introduction

The Fixup Scale Page Content by Percentage is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to scale the page content to a selected percentage value.

2. General

The Fixup Scale Page Content by Percentage can be used to scale the page content of the TrimBox proportionally to a specific percentage value.

Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order, or Production Job by

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
  • activating the Page Content option in the Category area,
  • activating the Scale in the Action area,
  • activating the TrimBox in the Search area.

3. Description

Use this Fixup to proportionally scale the page content within the TrimBox to a selected percentage size. The existing Bleed is adjusted accordingly, which means it can be smaller or larger than before.

3.1. Requirements and Functionality

For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following requirements must be met:

  • There is a TrimBox in the file, the MediaBox must be present in any case.
  • Bleed may be present.

The following options can be used to scale the page content by percentage:

  • Scale to [1]enter the desired percentage value in the input field to which the page content should be scaled by percentage. For the Variable Content [2], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the percentage selection should be retrieved.

3.2. Before/After

To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Scale Page Content by Percentage.pdf". The file has a size of 150 x 100 mm. This should now be scaled to 50 %.

After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Scale Page Content by Percentage_End.pdf" is created, where the entire page content of the TrimBox has been scaled to 50 % - i.e. 75 x 50 mm. The values from Figure 1 were used for this.
