3.35 Remove BX and EX Entries

Updated on

In this article you will learn

  • which requirements must be met to carry out this Fixup and
  • how to apply the Fixup.

1. Introduction

The Fixup Remove BX and EX Entries is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to remove these entries. Page operators that are bracketed by BX and EX can be ignored by a PDF display program if it is not supported.

2. General

The Fixup Remove BX and EX Entries can be used to remove just such entries. If programs want to embed operators in a PostScript code that are not part of the current specification, this can be done using the BX and EX operator. The incompatible operators must be located within the BX and EX operator. Everything within BX and EX will be read and executed by the interpreter, but recognizing an unknown operator will not lead to a PostScript error.
