3.127 Synchronize Selected Page Geometry Boxes

1. Introduction

The Fixup Synchronize Selected Page Geometry Boxes is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to bring a selected Page Geometry Box to the size of another Box.

2. General

The Fixup Synchronize Selected Page Geometry Boxes can be used to set all or a selected Page Box to another box. This allows to e.g. bring all boxes to the size of the TrimBox.

Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job by:

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
  • activating the option Page Box in the Category area,
  • activating the option Change in the Action area,
  • activating the option BleedBox, TrimBox, CropBox and MediaBox in the Search area.

3. Description

With this Fixup, all or a selected Page Box can be synchronized with another Page Box and brought to the size of the target box.

3.1. Requirements and Functionality

For the Fixup to do what it promises, the following conditions must be met:

  • There must be another Page Box in the print file in addition to the MediaBox.

Select from the following options to synchronize the Page Geometry Boxes:

  • Page Box to be moved [1] – from the selection menu select the Box that should be moved. The following options are available:
    • TrimBox – the size of the TrimBox is brought to the size of the target box.
    • BleedBox – the size of the BleedBox is brought to the size of the target box.
    • CropBox –  the size of the CropBox is brought to the size of the target box.
    • All –  all boxes are brought to the size of the target box.
    • Variable Content [3] – select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the selection for the box that should be moved is retrieved. The following values must be present in the selected field so that the selection can be carried out:
      • TrimBox
      • BleedBox
      • CropBox
      • All

  • Set to Page Box [2] – from the selection menu select the Box on which the other box(es) should be placed. The following options are available:
    • TrimBox – the selected boxes are brought to the size of the TrimBox.
    • BleedBox – the selected boxes are brought to the size of the BleedBox.
    • CropBox – the selected boxes are brought to the size of the CropBox.
    • MediaBox – the selected boxes are brought to the size of the MediaBox.
    • Variable Content [4] – select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the selection of the box should be retrieved. The following values must be present in the selected field so that the selection can be executed:
    • TrimBox
    • BleedBox
    • CropBox
    • MediaBox

3.2. Before/After

To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Synchronize Page Boxes.pdf". The file has a size of 200 x 200 mm. This is the size of the CropBox and the MediaBox. The BleedBox has a size of 190 x 190 mm. The TrimBox has a size of 184 x 184 mm.

After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Synchronize Page Boxes_End.pdf" is created, where all Page Boxes have been brought to the size of the TrimBox, i.e. 184 x 184 mm.
