1. Introduction
The Fixup Set PageBoxes based on Final Size is available in the Workflow. The aim of this Fixup is to change the width and height of the TrimBox in relation to the selected starting point. The BleedBox, CropBox and MediaBox can also be set relative to the TrimBox.
2. General
Reset the Page Boxes with the Fixup Set PageBoxes based on Final Size. Based on the selected starting point, select the width and height of the TrimBox and set other Page Boxes relative to this parameter.
Find the Fixup in the Data Preparation tab of an Article, Order or Production Job by:
- entering the name of the Fixup in the Filter area,
- activating the option Page Box in the Category area,
- activating the option Change in the Action area,
- activating the option MediaBox, BleedBox, CropBox or TrimBox in the Search area.
3. Description
Use this Fixup to set the Page Boxes based on the TrimBox. The width and height of the TrimBox can be entered based on the selected starting point. Set the BleedBox relative to the TrimBox by entering the desired Bleed. For the CropBox and MediaBox set either the absolute size or the respective box relative to the selected Page Box.
Use this Fixup for the following purposes:
- Setting a TrimBox in a desired size and start position for Print Items that only have a MediaBox.
- Setting Page Boxes for predefined print products in the desired size .
3.1. Requirements and Functionality
For the Fixup to do what it promises, no special circumstances are required.

Select from the following options to set the Page Boxes in relation to the TrimBox and the TrimBox in a defined size:
- Template [1] – settings selected in the dialog can be saved as a template and thus applied to other Articles/Print Items.
TrimBox

Starting point [2] – in the selection menu, select the starting point from which the size of the TrimBox is to be set. The following options are available:
- Center – the TrimBox is placed starting from the center of the MediaBox.
- Upper Left Corner – the TrimBox is placed starting from the top left corner of the MediaBox.
- Upper Right Corner – the TrimBox is placed starting from the top right-hand corner of the MediaBox.
- Lower Left Corner – the TrimBox is placed starting from the lower left corner of the MediaBox.
- Lower Right Corner – the TrimBox is placed starting from the lower right corner of the MediaBox.
- Top Center – the TrimBox is placed starting from the center of the top edge of the MediaBox.
- Bottom Center – the TrimBox is placed starting from the center of the bottom edge of the MediaBox.
- Left Center – the TrimBox is placed starting from the center of the left edge of the MediaBox.

Right Center – the TrimBox is placed starting from the center of the right edge of the MediaBox.

Variable Content [17] – select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the starting point should be retrieved. The following values must be found in the selected field so that the starting point is selectable:

- Width [3] – enter the desired width of the TrimBox here. For the Variable Content [4], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the width should be retrieved.
- Height [18] – enter the desired height of the TrimBox here. For the Variable Content [19], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the height should be retrieved.
- X Offset [5] – enter the desired X offset - starting from the center of the MediaBox frame - for the TrimBox frame here. "+" values move the box to the right, "-" values to the left. For the Variable Content [6], select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the X offset should be retrieved.
- Y Offset [20] – enter the desired Y offset - starting from the center of the MediaBox - for the TrimBox frame here. "+" values move the box upwards, "-" values move it downwards. For the Variable Content [21], select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the Y offset should be retrieved.
Bleed
- Bleed [7] – enter the desired Bleed for the respective page here. If the Bleed is different, the lock symbol must first be unlocked. For the Variable Content [22], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the Bleed of the respective page should be retrieved.
CropBox

Positioning [8] – select where and at which size the CropBox should be positioned. The following two options are available:
- Relative – the CropBox is set relative to a selected box.
- Absolute – the CropBox is set absolute. Enter the the desired size - width and height - for that.

Relative to [9] – select the desired reference box from which the offset should be calculated. You must select the Relative option for the Positioning option beforehand. All Page Boxes in the file are available for selection. For the Variable Content [23], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the selection of the respective Page Box should be retrieved. The following values must be present in the selected field so that the selection is executed:

- Offset [10] – enter the desired Offset for Top, Bottom, Left and Right. If the Offset differs, the lock symbol must first be unlocked. "+" values enlarge the box based on the reference box, "-" values reduce the box.

- Positioning [11] – select where and in what size the MediaBox should be positioned. The following two options are available:
- Relative – the MediaBox is set relative to a selected box.
- Absolute – the MediaBox is set absolute. Enter the desired size - width and height - of the box to do this.
- Width [12] – enter the desired width of the MediaBox here. For the Variable Content [13], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the width should be retrieved.
- Height [25] – enter the desired height of the MediaBox here. For the Variable Content [26], select the desired placeholder - Database field or User-defined field - from which the value for the height should be retrieved.
- X-Offset [14] –enter the desired X offset for the TrimBox starting from the center of the MediaBox. "+" values move the box to the right, "-" values to the left. For the Variable Content [15], select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the X offset should be retrieved.
- Y-Offset [27] – enter the desired Y offset for the TrimBox starting from the center of the MediaBox. "+" values move the frame upwards, "-" values move it downwards. For the Variable Content [28], select the desired placeholder - database field or user-defined field - from which the value for the Y offset should be retrieved.
- Remove ArtBox [16] – when this option is activated, the ArtBox is deleted from the file.
3.2. Before/After
To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Set PageBoxes based on Final Size.pdf". The file has a size of 200 x 200 mm. However, the TrimBox should have a size of 120 x 180 mm with a Bleed of 3 mm.
After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Set PageBoxes based on Final Size_End.pdf" is created. The TrimBox was set to the size 120x180 mm with a Bleed of 3 mm. The values from Figure 1 were used .
